Azerbaijan uses Smerch to attack civilian areas in Artsakh’s Martuni
The night of October 22-23 was restless in the town of Martakert and the Martuni region of Artsakh, the State Service for Emergency Situations reported on Friday.
Two units of an apartment building located on 7 A. Sakharov Street were engulfed in flames as a result of the Azerbaijani shelling of Martakert. The Martakert regional emergency department firefighters managed to put out the fire quickly, preventing it from spreading to other apartments.
According to preliminary data, the enemy opened fire in that direction using Grad rockets, the service said, adding no civilian casualties were reported.
At dawn, the Azerbaijani forces began bombarding the villages of Karmir Shuka and Taghavard in the Martuni region with Smerch multiple rocket launchers.
At the moment, a number of villages in the Martuni region, including Karmir Shuka, are being hit with Smerch rocket launchers.
