Armenia takes preventive measures after Azeri shelling of country’s southern border
Armenia has taken preventative measures to stop the Azerbaijani encroachments in the southern border, Armenian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan said on Tuesday.
“Armenia’s border troops have taken preventive measures to thwart the Azerbaijani encroachments in the southern direction of the Republic of Armenia, inflicting significant damages and losses on the adversary,” she wrote on Facebook.
The Azerbaijani side is using UAVs in that part of the border, Stepanyan added.
Earlier the spokeswoman said the Azeri military used combat drones, missile and artillery systems to bombard the Armenian border guard positions in the country's south, at the junction with Iran. One of the Azerbaijani combat UAVs fell in Armenia’s territory, Stepanyan said, adding there were reports of injuries.
