Armenia reports 2,241 new coronavirus cases, 26 deaths on October 28
Armenia has confirmed 2,241 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in a 24-hour period, bringing the national tally to 82,651 as of 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, the Ministry of Health reports.
694 more patients have recovered from the disease with the total number of recoveries now standing at 52,508.
The coronavirus death toll has increased by 26 to 1,243. The latest victims were 65 (female), 66 (female), 72(female), 72 (male), 74 (male), 68 (female), 65 (male), 81 (male), 64 (female), 70 (female), 85 (male), 95 (female), 78 (female), 79 (male), 66 (female), 71 (male), 81 (male), 68 (male), 72 (female), 65 (male) and 61 (female) years old. Except the last patient, all had underlying chronic health conditions. Four other patients carrying the virus died from other causes in the past 24 hours.
Five more deaths were recorded when the patients tested positive for the virus but the cause of the death was another disease. The number of such cases is 352.
The number of active cases is 28,548. As many as 387,633 tests have been performed in the country since the disease outbreak.
