Defense Ministry of Armenia David Tonoyan received on Friday Ambassador of the United States of America to Armenia Mrs. Lynne Tracy, the press department at the ministry said.

The US Ambassador expressed concern that the agreements on establishing humanitarian ceasefire have not been implemented and expressed hope the ongoing diplomatic efforts will give results.

At the request of the Ambassador, Minister Tonoyan briefed on the course of the military actions and the situation on the front, pointing to the fact of involvement of foreign mercenaries and servicemen in the military operations.

The defense minster noted that in the absence of the ceasefire, Armenian forces continue to confidently implement their tasks. The minister stressed that the cessation of hostilities is possible only through use of verification mechanisms on the ground.
