Carl Bildt reacts to possible deployment of Scandinavian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh
Former Prime Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt has commented on reports about possible deployment of Scandinavian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"With its upcoming chairmanship, Sweden can hardly stay away from a possible peacekeeping mission in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, but we are certainly very far from that as of now. First, there must be a peace to keep," Bildt tweeted.
To remind, earlier, the U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien said that the Nagorno Karabakh conflicting parties should accept Scandinavian peacekeepers and that the mediators are working with Scandinavian governments to put together a peacekeeping force that could deployed into the region to keep a ceasefire.
