Armenian FM: No future for Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan
Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) has never had and will never have any future as part of Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said at a joint meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committees on Foreign Relations and Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs on Thursday.
“Such a situation would imply Artsakh without Armenians, which is never going to happen,” he stressed.
In Mnatsakanyan’s words, it especially highlights Armenia’s pan-national goal rather than foreign policy.
“I don't think that any Armenian in any corner of the world would come to terms with the idea that our 150,000 compatriots in Karabakh, who are the defenders of our identity today, might be exposed to danger," the minister said, underlining the nationwide focus on the matter.
According to him, the Armenian Foreign Ministry works consistently at all levels with all its main partners, starting from the highest level.
"I can assure that the government's policy has been very consistent and stable," he said, adding that they have no restrictions in their contacts at any level.
