Women from Artsakh protest outside Germany Embassy in Yerevan
Women and children from Artsakh, who were forced to flee their homes due to the Azerbaijani-Turkish military aggression against Artsakh, on Thursday staged a protest outside the German Embassy in Yerevan.
They wanted a meeting with the German ambassador to hand over a letter outlining their concerns and demands to the diplomat in person.
The women had already held protests in front of the Embassies of Russia, the United States and other countries and offices of international organizations in Yerevan.
The protesters call for an adequate international response to the aggression against Artsakh, accusing Germany of staying silent and thus contributing to the rise of “a new Hitler” (referring to Erdogan).
Protesting women call for the recognition of Artsakh’s independence as the only way to stop the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression and suspension of arms sales to Turkey.
The protesters tore their letter to pieces after the deputy ambassador (the ambassador was not available) refused to meet with three of them as they demanded, condemning the German Embassy for inaction.
