11-year-old Ashot saves his family, neighbors after driving them from Artsakh to Armenia
11-year-old Ashot managed to save his family and neighbors after driving them out of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia hours after the start of the war in Artsakh on 27 September.
Ashot drove 4 adults and 9 children out when his father was on duty, Mrs. Zmrukht, the boy’s mother, told Zinuzh Media on Friday, adding it was her husband’s wish.
The boy’s father taught him how to drive a car back in 2017.
The mother says she was surprised by how confidently his son drove the car.
The 11-year-old boy admits he was a little bit afraid that their car could be hit by the Azerbaijani forces as the sounds of gunfire were very close.
“They kept telling me to be careful. As soon as they started firing, I was told to drive fast," Ashot said.
The boy and his family are living in Armenia’s Vedi town now, but wish to go back home.
