Mayor: Situation in Artsakh’s Martuni region remains tense
The situation in Martuni region of Artsakh remains tense. The Azerbaijani troops continued bombarding the region overnight and in the morning, Martuni Mayor Edik Avanesyan said on Saturday.
He said that despite the dangerous situation, the relevant authorities were carrying out rehabilitation work, in many cases being targeted by the Azerbaijani forces.
"Cleaning and restoration works are being carried out in the town of Martuni. The Defense Army and the militia fighters are making every effort to properly fulfil the tasks set forth. The enemy has received an adequate response which they will remember for a long time. In general, Martuni remains in the same position as it was in 1990s,” the mayor said.
"Martuni is standing firm with its residents, and we will go on to the end, to the victory," he added.
