BILD editor-in-chief: Many reporters can prove Aliyev is lying
BILD editor-in-chief Paul Ronzheimer, who is covering the war in Artsakh, took to Twitter on Monday to react to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s absurd statements made in an interview to BBC News.
“Not only BBC knows that the President is telling lies, once again. We were on the ground for two weeks, saw shelling of civilian areas almost every day and every night. @azpresident, there are many many reporters who can prove: You are lying!” he tweeted.
During the interview, BBC’s Orla Guerin told Aliyev that the BBC correspondents who were in Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh, from 1-3 October witnessed “shelling of the town, including the emergency services center, an apartment bloc destroyed, as people tried to flee, there was a drone overhead, shortly afterwards more shelling nearby, they characterized it as indiscriminate shelling of a town without clear military targets.”
“This is not hearsay. This was witnessed and filmed by the BBC,” the reporter stressed.
In response, Aliyev said he doubted those witnessing.
