Opposition leaders invited to SIS moments before the start of the rally
The leader of Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan, the head of Homeland party Artur Vanetsyan and other opposition politicians have been invited to the Special Investigation Service (SIS), MP Iveta Tonoyan told reporters. There are no immediate comments about the reason for the invitation.
The news came shortly after 17 political parties announced about a rally scheduled on Friday at 16.00 at Liberty square in Yerevan. Tonoyan reminded that during the Thursday rally Tsarukyan was again invited to SIS right before the start of the planned rally.
"This comes to prove that authorities are guided by own fears and do their utmost to impede Gagik Tsarukyan and other opposition leaders from interacting with people, deprive them from an opportunity to address the public at the square and reveal the truth," Tonoyan said.
To note, for a third day in a row, opposition forces are holding demonstrations and rallies, protesting against the treacherous document signed by Pashinyan that ended the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. The opposition call for the resignation of the Prime Minister and his cabinet of ministers.
