US Ambassador: Political violence and intimidation have no place in a democratic society
Ambassador of the United States to Armenia Lynne Tracy discussed the current political situation in Armenia with the Head of the ruling "My Step" fraction Lilit Makunts, the Embassy tweeted.
"Both reaffirmed their joint commitment to strengthening democracy and the rule of law in Armenia. Political violence and intimidation have no place in a democratic society," said the Ambassador.
To note, the Ambassador's message came after Pashinyan's midnight Facebook post in which the Prime Minister said that he had viewed dozens of frontline soldiers' videos and was amazed by their acumen. “Boys, you are right. I am awaiting you in Yerevan to finally solve the issues of those whining under the walls.” Pashinyan's message was widely interpreted as call a for civil clashes.
