Ombudsman: MP from the ruling party received death threats after criticizing the PM's message
Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan reports that one of the lawmakers from the ruling 'My Step' fraction has applied to him after receiving death threats for criticizing PM Nikol PAshinyan's recent message on Facebook.
"I strongly condemn this dangerous phenomenon. The police should immediately take measures to ensure the security of the deputies of the National Assembly. I will provide the data of the deputy to law enforcement," Tatoyan wrote, adding the personal security of the deputies will be in the focus of his attention as much as the status of the Human Rights Defender allows.
To remind, on Sunday Pashinyan wrote in a Facebook post that he had viewed dozens of frontline soldiers' videos and was amazed by their acumen. “Boys, you are right. I am awaiting you in Yerevan to finally solve the issues of those whining under the walls.” Pashinyan's message was widely interpreted as call a for civil clashes.
