Vahram Baghdasaryan to be freed amid charges for "usurping power"
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction presided over by Judge Robert Papoyan rejected a motion on the arrest of Vahram Baghdasaryan sought by investigators. As Pastinfo reported, the Court found Baghdasaryan's arrest as unlawful.
Vahram Baghdasaryan, a former MP from the Republican Party of Armenia, was arrested on November 14 along with the Leader of Homeland party Artur Vanetsyan and war volunteer Ashot Minasyan on charges of attempting to usurp power and plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Baghdasaryan's lawyer announced that the charges have nothing in common with the law.
To remind, within the same criminal case, the Leader of Homeland Party Artur Vanetsyan was charged. On Sunday, the Court found Vanetsyan's detention unjustified and ordered his release.
