Extraordinary sitting of Armenia's National Assembly Council fails for lack of quorum
The Head of parliamentary fraction Bright Armenia Edmon Marukyan called for an extraordinary session of the National Assembly with the resignation of the prime minister and the abolition of the martial law on its agenda. In Marukyan's words, convening an extraordinary session requires discussion at the National Assembly Council.
Iveta Tonoyan, another opposition lawmaker from Prosperous Armenia fraction informed that no National Assembly Council meeting was held due to the absence of MPs from the ruling fraction. As a result, the National Assembly fails to convene the session.
She expressed hope that the NA Council meeting may still take place if lawmakers from the ruling fraction join them in half an hour. "Otherwise, the ruling fraction will prove it is afraid of people," Tonoyan said.
