Number of activists detained at a protest outside the Ministry of Education
A group of citizens protested on Tuesday outside the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport in Yerevan. They demanded Minister of Education Arayik Harutyunyan to meet them and express his opinion on the notorious document on Nagorno-Karabakh signed by PM Nikol Pashinyan.
The leader of 'Green future' environmental initiative Vahagn Varagyan, who was among the protesters was detained by law enforcement shortly after the rally started.
"We are the representatives of the scientific-educational sector and want just to check the position of our minister about the capitulation deal signed by the head of the government. We didn't event start our protest when police started detaining citizens," Armen Avetisyan, one of the organizers of the protest told reporters.
He next noted that their actions will continue until they get familiarized with of position of the minister who is responsible for the education and science sector.
