Opposition figures Artur Vanetsyan, Ishkhan Saghatelyan charged
Artur Vanetsyan, the leader of the opposition Homeland party, and Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF, Dashnaktsutyun) have been charged.
"The charges are unsubstantiated and absolutely politically motivated," Vanetsyan told reporters after leaving the Special Investigative Service.
He urged everyone to take part in the opposition rally at the Liberty Square in Yerevan at 6pm and to learn about their next steps.
Earlier a group of opposition politicians were also charged under Article 225.1 of Armenia’s Criminal Code (organizing or holding a rally in violation of the law).
