Ex-MP Manvel Grigoryan dies at 64
Former lawmaker, ex-chairman of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Hero of Artsakh, Lieutenant-General Manvel Grigoryan passed away at the age of 64, former Republican MP Karen Avagyan said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
He served as a deputy of the Artsakh Supreme Council from 1992-1996 and a member of the Armenian parliament from 2012-2018.
Grigoryan was charged with embezzlement of army supplies and illegal procurement and possession of firearms and ammunition in large quantities in a prior agreement with his wife, son and several other individuals, tax evasion and extortion in 2018.
He was initially remanded into custody. But due to his grave health condition, Grigoryan was released on signature bond in early 2020.
