Defense minister received Russian ambassador to Armenia
Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan received on Thursday Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopirkin. As the press service at the ministry reported, Minister Tonoyan highlighted the role and efforts of Russia aimed at resolving the military-political situation in the region as well as the course and efficiency of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh.
The interlocutors also attached importance to the process of identification and exchange of prisoners of war, hostages and other detained as coordinated by Russian peacekeepers and the InInternational Committee of the Red Cross.
Minister Tonoyan once again expressed his condolences to the Russian Ambassador over the death of the pilots of a Russian Mi-24 helicopter downed over Armenia and handed over medals awarded by the President of Armenia to the three crew-members of the helicopter.
