Ruling bloc MP: No signals from Armenian government to lift martial law now
The ruling My Step bloc will not take part in the National Assembly’s council meeting to discuss a proposal of the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction to convene a special parliament sitting to cancel the martial law in Armenia.
Speaking at a briefing on Thursday, Deputy Speaker Lena Nazaryan stated the bill on martial law was brought to the parliament by the government and they adopted that decision based on the assessment of the government.
“We do not have any signals from the government now that the martial law should be lifted. Therefore, we won’t take part in that meeting. Our stance is against it,” she said.
