Artur Vanetsyan speaks of two lies spread by Pashinyan
"Nikol Pashinyan has brought false claims to the agenda of public discourse, trying to cling to power," the leader of opposition Homeland party, former chief of the country's National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan stated on Saturday during the rally in Yerevan.
In Vanetsyan words, the main argument brought by Pashinyan against his resignation is that the opposition is struggling for the power.
"This claim is a lie. I officially state that we are struggling to save our motherland. This is not just a political struggle but a struggle for our future," said Vanetsyan. He stressed that when the euphoria and lies pass in the coming days, the society will face the dire reality. "Serious challenges are ahead of us, including humanitarian, health, economic and social crises. Is Pashinyan capable to solve all these issues considering he has failed in all spheres in the past 2.5 years?" Vanetsyan addressed to the public.
He said that Pashinyan has developed two falsehoods and tries to feed the external and domestic audience with them. "For the external audience Pashinyan is spreading a falsehood that if political forces and the people make him resign, the Karabakh statement signed by him will be annulled, and the war will resume.
I declare officially we have no plan to resume the war. Our message is the following: the defeated leader cannot represent our interests in the future agreement emanating from that humiliating statement. He is simply unable to come up with any pro-Armenian provision and suggest acceptable solutions. We do not want a war and have never wanted. Pashinyan was the one who provoked it due to his incompetent and poor foreign policy," stated Vanetsyan.
The leader of Homeland party next spoke of another false thesis put forward by Pashinyan which is predominantly designed for the domestic audience. It says that if he resigns, the previous regime will come and take the power. "I want to stress that this is a false agenda, as the previous authorities will never come, while the current ones are rejected and will always be rejected. We are coming to make the future with new faces, ideas and a new vision," said Vanetsyan.
