French Senate adopted historic resolution calling for necessity to recognize Artsakh
Minutes ago, French Senate adopted a historic resolution on the necessity to recognize the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic. The resolution, authored by Senators Bruno Retalier, Patrick Cannet, Herve Marmel, Eliane Assassi, and Guillaume Gontard, was approved with 305 in favor and 1 opposing votes.
The document condemns the military aggression launched against Artsakh by Azerbaijan, backed by Turkish authorities with the involvement of foreign mercenaries.
It also calls on the French government to provide large-scale humanitarian assistance to the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, ensure the protection of the civilians under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group, launch international investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity in Nagorno-Karabakh.
