Electricity, gas supply to Stepanakert restored by 95-97%
Peaceful life is being restored in the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), Stepanakert, with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers.
To date, electricity and gas supply to the city has been restored by 95-97 percent. The city's power substation has been restored, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Military personnel of the International Mine Action Center of the Russian Defense Ministry examined the places of repair and restoration work for the presence of explosive objects, including the buildings of two schools where the educational process will resume in the near future.
Earlier, public transport and traffic was restored. Engineering and technical units of the Russian contingent of the peacekeeping forces continue to assist the local administration in clearing public roads and restoring social infrastructure in the city of Stepanakert.
Russian peacekeepers are ensuring the safe return of refugees and the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, the ministry said.
