Artsakh Ombudsman says around 60 PoWs and 40 civilians are in Azerbaijani captivity
The Artsakh Human Rights Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan informs that his team is updating day and night the lists of missing persons and PoWS based on published videos and evidences provided by the family members and the relatives. In his words, based on obtained data, some 60 PoWs are reportedly held in Azerbaijan, and only few of them have not been identified yet.
"A separate fact-finding mission is underway on missing civilians, whose number reaches 40," the Ombudsman wrote on Facebook.
In Beglaryan's words, the obtained data are sent to respective state and international bodies, hoping for efficient work aimed at full protection of the rights of the war prisoners and other detainees as well as their return.
The Artsakh Ombudsman added that his team is closely working with the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and private lawyers on coordination of the processes and information exchange.
