Turks angry over map of historical Armenia shared by French politician
The Turkish media has described as “scandalous” a Twitter post by the head of the French Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, statesman Laurent Wauquiez, Ermenihaber reports.
Wauquiez tweeted about the collection of medicine and essential items in support of Armenia at an event in France, also sharing a photo of a map of historical Armenia, which includes the eastern territories of modern Turkey.
The map shared by the French politician has drawn the ire of Turkish social media users, as expected, and has been widely discussed in the Turkish media.
According to one of those reports, Armenians allegedly attacked the “Turkish-populated regions” of Nagorno-Karabakh, which started the war, and after which France delivered humanitarian aid to Armenia.
