Tigran Abrahamyan: Posts of three deputy defense ministers remain vacant
The positions of three deputy defense ministers of Armenia, as well as of the Defense Ministry spokesperson remain vacant two weeks after the new defense minister took office, political scientist Tigran Abrahamyan, who heads the Henaket Analytical Center, said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
"There are a large number of issues concerning the armed forces, but apart from the formal, ceremonial meetings, here is nothing specific in the steps or statements of the defense minister. I don’t consider situational half-solutions,” he wrote.
“It has been two weeks since Armenia has a new defense minister, but the posts of three deputy defense ministers still remain vacant, a spokesperson has not been appointed either.
“And it does not matter whether there are candidates or not, there are many or few who turn down [the job offers] and whether or not they will be appointed today or tomorrow.
“The fact is that in a country where the martial law is in force, the minister of defense has failed to make appointments to key positions for two weeks and has not made any conceptual speech or statement,” the expert said.
