Opposition PM's candidate to present anti-crisis measures during the nation-wide rally on December 5
The united opposition candidate for the post of the Prime Minister of Armenia will address the national-wide rally on December 5 in Yerevan and present anti-crisis measures to overcome the ongoing political crisis in the country.
The opposition parties announced on Thursday that the Council of 17 political parties has decided to expand its format and establish a Homeland Salvation Front, which is a pan-Armenian movement, comprising of political parties, intellectuals, wide circles of the society. It also named Vazgen Manukyan as its candidate for the post of the Prime Minister. Manukyan had served as the first Prime Minister of Armenia from 1990 to 1991 and then served as Defense Minister.
"Nikol Pashinyan and his regime led the country to capitulation, causing serious losses to the Armenian people, losing national achievements of the past decades as well as making the national security vulnerable for the time ahead. What happened is a national disaster and a treason, the political and legal assessment of which will be given in the future," the Movement said in a statement, adding the formation of a new leadership remains an imperative.
As the statement added, one of the adopted missions of the Movement is removing 'disastrous regime' from office and establish an interim anti-crisis government.
