Henrikh Mkhitaryan: We'll try to cause much trouble to all opponents
FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifying draw took place on Monday, December 7. The Armenian national team was drawn in Group J and will face Germany, Romania, Iceland, North Macedonia and Liechtenstein.
Armenian national football team head coach Joaquín Caparrós spoke about the results of the draw in an interview to the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA).
"It's a very interesting draw. I don't think, that our group is the strongest, but it's one of the strongest groups. Germany is favorite to win the group. Romania is the team, that has had a good progress recently, while Iceland is the team whose players play together for a long time,” he said.
“We know North Macedonia very well, as we played against them quite often during past 2 years. Speaking about Liechtenstein, I can say that you must not underestimate them, as they are always ready to make a surprise. Summarizing it all, I can say that we have to get ready from a match to match and try to get points in all the games."
Armenian national team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan believes it is rather a good group for the team.
“There aren't any weak teams now, but, anyway, the group is not the most difficult. We will play against the teams with different styles of playing and will try to prepare well and perform well against all of them. We'll try to cause much trouble to all the opponents and get points in all the matches,” he told FFA.
