Protesters demanding Nikol Pashinyan's resignation block Yerevan streets
A group of protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have blocked a number of streets in Yerevan.
Demonstrators chanting “Nikol, the traitor” have already blocked traffic on Mashtots, Arshakunyats, Azatutyun Avenues, the intersection of Sayat-Nova Avenue and Abovyan Street and the Sakharov Square.
The protests came after ARF member Ishkhan Saghatelyan announced the launch of a nationwide “civil disobedience” campaign amid Pashinyan’s failure to step down by Tuesday noon, an ultimatum set by the opposition forces at the December 5 rally.
Speaking to reporters at the Sakharov Square, one of the protesters again accused the premier of capitulating to Azerbaijan.
"These actions, which started across the country, show that the nation does not tolerate this scoundrel and traitor, who has no place in our country. He must be removed from office immediately,” he said.
