Vanadzor and Hrazdan join protests urging Pashinyan to step down
Besides capital Yerevan, citizens have taken to streets in Vanadzor and Hrazdan towns of Armenia, demanding Nikol Pashinyan's resignation. In Vanadzor, citizens are chanting "Nikol - traitor!" and "Nikol go!", calling for passers-by to join their protest.
In the protest organised in Hrazdan town, people insist that Pashinyan has surrendered territories to Turks and should not remain in office.
"This prime minister is unable to straighten our back in the negotiations process and save whatever we can. The removal of these authorities is an imperative. A decentralized struggle has started throughout the republic, which will eventually make the person holding the post of the prime minister cease his duties and go in peaceful way. The parliament should show its will to transfer the responsibilities of the executive power to Vazgen Manukyan," one of the participants in Hrazdan rally stated.
To remind, the opposition forces called for peaceful nationwide protests after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan failed to announce his resignation by Tuesday noon. The opposition parties had given Pashinyan until 12pm December 8 to step down at a rally of the Homeland Salvation Movement on December 5.
