Russia to ban tomato, pepper imports from Armenia’s Armavir
The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) has imposed a ban on imports of tomatoes and peppers from Armenia’s Armavir Province to Russia after detecting Pepino mosaic virus in them.
The ban comes into force on December 14, RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday, citing the Russian watchdog.
The move aims to prevent the spread of the virus on the territory of Russia.
As reported earlier, Russia will ban imports of tomatoes and apples from Azerbaijan starting from December 10 due to the detection of pests in the products of the country.
