'Protect ARTsakh' online auction will launch to help Artsakh's displaced families
A charity art auction for Artsakh, titled 'Protect ARTsakh,' will run through December 14 to 20 on the ArtScoops platform, Narekatsi Arts Union reports. The auction presents 78 lots by 60 multidisciplinary artists from four continents, featuring paintings, photography, sculpture, illustration, textile and even jewelry. All proceeds will go towards those impacted by the current situation in Artsakh.
The event is organized by three young Armenians - Lara Arslanian (Belgium), Garabed Bardakjian (Lebanon) and Sarine Semerjian (Syria), and in patronage with the Arslanian Foundation. The auction has the objective of raising funds for the ongoing humanitarian relief efforts towards the Armenian families who recently fled from Artsakh. Beyond the immediate financial relief, the charity art auction will raise awareness of the dire situation in Armenia and Artsakh.
It is noted that part of the proceeds will go to Narekatsi Art Union, which, regretfully, lost its branch in Shushi, yet continues its cultural mission in the form of an humanitarian relief. Some 300 families have benefited from the assistance provided by the Union, another 500 families are expected to get support in the future.
