Police use force to disperse peaceful protest march in Yerevan
The police in Yerevan used force on Friday to disperse the protest march organised by ARF Dashnaksutyun, demanding the resignation of PM Nikol Pashinyan. The police officers first obstructed the march on one of central streets in the capital city, scuffled with protesters and took some of the participants to police stations.
Among detainees were ARFD member Gegham Manukyan and other activists, who were forcibly removed from the scene. Manukyan was chanting "Nikol is a traitor."
As reported earlier, groups of citizens along with representatives of different political forces started a "march of dignity" in central streets of Yerevan to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The Head of RPA Youth Organization Hayk Mamijanyan, who was among the demonstrators, said that the aim of their action is to explain the Prime Minister of Facebookian Armenia, he has no rule in the country and should leave immediately.
