The parents of missing soldiers from Shirak province met with Russian Consul General
The relatives of Armenian soldiers from Armenia’s Shirak Province who were captured by Azerbaijani forces in the area of Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher villages in Artsakh's Hadrut region, met on Friday with the Head of Mission of the Russian Consulate General in Gyumri.
"We were told that negotiations are underway to resolve the issue, and the results are being reported directly to Putin. The peacekeeping forces cooperate with our defense ministry to find a solution to the matter," one of the parents told reporters after the meeting. The other parent informed that they received hotline to get information about the situation.
"We handed over the list of soldiers taken prisoner by the Azerbaijani forces to them. The Consul General informed, the matter is under consideration for 100% and assured the soldiers will be back alive. He also promised to provide data about the exact number of PoWs and update on their health condition."
To remind, dozens of Armenian soldiers have been captured near the villages of Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher in the Hadrut region in the recent days. The family members of the servicemen had earlier blocked Yerevan-Gyumri highway.
