Artak Tovmasyan: ‘The day of our victory is still ahead’
Artak Tovmasyan, the head of the Tovmasyan Charity Foundation, released a statement on the three-day mourning declared in Armenia on December 19 to commemorate those killed in the war in Artsakh. The statement reads:
“Today is the day of national mourning. Our flag is lowered to half-mast, our souls are tired out, with the hearts of our people full of sadness and sorrow, because our brothers are no longer with us. Real warriors devoted to the nation fell so that our homeland would stand. My deepest condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of our brothers who died heroically in this relentless war.
Dear parents of fallen soldiers, after this war future generations may speak of defeat, but you must always remember that your sons did not lose, we maybe, but they never! Our army was not defeated, our soldiers did not flee the battlefield. The day of our victory is still ahead!
I once again bow down before your sons and reiterate that it’s a pride to be an Armenian living by Christian values. An Armenian cannot lose!
Stay strong! You are not alone!"
