Some roads in Armenia closed, hardly passable
Some roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass as of Saturday evening, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
In particular, the roadways leading to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province are closed to traffic.
Vardenyats Pass is difficult to pass for trailer trucks.
Roads in Syunik Province and Vardenyats Pass are partly covered with black ice.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open for all types of vehicles.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry said that the decision to ban entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in force. The ban does not apply to the freight transport.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
