At least five killed in Kabul car bomb blast
At least five people, including four doctors, were killed after a magnetic bomb attached to their car exploded in the Afghanistan capital, Kabul, Al Jazeera reports.
The doctors were heading to the Pul-e-Charkhi prison, located on the eastern outskirts of Kabul, which hosts hundreds of Taliban fighters, according to Kabul police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz.
It was not immediately clear if the doctors were targeted in Tuesday’s attack.
The fifth person killed in the explosion is yet to be identified.
Two others were injured in the explosion, said Faramarz.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack which damaged nearby buildings and shops.
Violence in Afghanistan has spiked even as the Taliban and Afghan government negotiators hold talks in Qatar, trying to hammer out a peace deal that could put an end to decades of war.
