Opposition plans to block entrances to the government building ahead of the cabinet meeting
The protesters, demanding the resignation of PM Nikol Pashinyan, are set to block the government building entrance on Thursday and prevent ministers from attending the cabinet session scheduled at 10.00. The opposition's plan was announced by Coordinator of the Homeland Salvation Front Gegham Manukyan.
"The cabinet session is scheduled at 11.00 on Thursday. The ministers often use the back entrance to enter the building and attend the concluding cabinet session of the ongoing year led by Pashinyan. I call on you to gather at 10.00 near the government building and surround all entrances ," Manukyan said.
"They [members of the government] should not be able to hold a cabinet meeting. Pashinyan should be deprived of an opportunity to hold a cabinet meeting as a prime minister," added Manukyan, informing a group of protesters will spend the night in the Republic Square.
