Defense minister visits the Russian 102nd military base
Defense Minister of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan visited on Tuesday the Russian 102nd military base dislocated in Gyumri. As the press department at the ministry reported, Minister Harutyunyan got familiarized with the infrastructure, the arsenal of the base and the military equipment.
The Minister of Defense congratulated the command staff and the personnel of the military base on the anniversary of the formation of the military unit and awarded number of servicemen excelled in service.
Harutyunyan highlighted the role and significance of the Russian military bases located in Armenia in the context of the regional security, spoke about Armenian-Russian strategic partnership and deepening of allied relations.
The minister also visited the Russian Church on the territory of the base, the museum of military history and made an inscription in the Guest Book.
