Rubinyan: Those who quitted My Step bloc should explain how they continue to serve as MPs
Those deputies who left Armenia’s ruling My Step bloc should explain how they continue to serve as MPs, Ruben Rubinyan, an MP from the same bloc, said in a Facebook post late on Friday.
“After the well-known events, the following deputies left the My Step bloc: Vardan Atabekyan, Gor Gevorkyan, Taguhi Tovmasyan, Anna Grigoryan and Sofya Hovsepyan.
“Highlighting the need for an MP to be accountable to the voters, I believe those people who received a parliamentary mandate based on the votes of the citizens who voted for the My Step bloc should at least explain with whose and what mandate they continue to serve as MPs – not in terms of documentation, but in a political context,” he wrote.
Rubinyan refrained from commenting on the lawmakers’ move, adding it’s for the people who voted for the My Step bloc in the 2018 elections to do so.
“P.S. As the overwhelming political majority, the My Step bloc will continue to implement the single mandate given to it as a tool and order to exercise the people's power. In Armenia, power belongs to the people, and this is an indisputable and irreversible reality,” he added.
