Mediaport: Hovhannes Harutyunyan to be named as new Shirak governor
Armenia’s former Deputy Minister of Health Hovhannes Harutyunyan is set to be appointed new Governor of Shirak Province on Thursday, according to Telegram channel Mediaport.
The source reminds that Harutyunyan was dismissed as deputy minister on 15 October 2019, shortly after a dispute with National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan.
"A few days after Harutyunyan's resignation, the National Security Service charged his father, Avetik Harutyunyan. He was accused of misappropriation during the construction funded by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. The signature bond was imposed on his as a measure of restraint.
"Hovhannes Harutyunyan is from Spandaryan community of Shirak Province," Mediaport said.
