Azerbaijan hasn’t allowed search operations in Artsakh on Wednesday
The body of an Armenian serviceman was found in Jabrayil during the search operations carried out in the settlements under Azerbaijan’s control on Tuesday, the State Service of Emergency Situations of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) said.
Speaking to Panorama.am on Wednesday, the head of the agency’s press service, Hunan Tadevosyan, said the body is unidentifiable, adding a forensic examination is set to be performed.
The Azerbaijani side has not allowed search operations in Karabakh today, January 20 marked as a national day of mourning (Black January) in the country, he said.
Tadevosyan noted the weather conditions are very unfavorable, but the main reason for not conducting search operations is the absence of permission from Azerbaijan.
The search efforts will resume on Thursday, he added.
In total, the bodies of 1,247 killed servicemen and civilians were found during the operations so far.
