Lawyer appeals against Alexey Navalny’s arrest
An appeal has been filed against blogger Alexey Navalny’s arrest, lawyer Vadim Kobzev told TASS.
"We have filed an appeal against the Khimkinsky District Court’s decision to arrest Navalny," he said, adding that the Moscow Regional Court would consider the appeal.
"In light of quarantine measures, we sent it by post, attaching a digital signature," the lawyer added.
Navalny’s defense asked the court to release him and declare his detention unlawful.
Navalny, who was wanted for violating his suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case, was detained at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport upon arrival from Berlin on Sunday. Moscow’s Khimkinsky District Court ruled on Monday that he should remain in custody until February 15.
