Roads of Armenia’s Syunik difficult to pass
Some roads are closed or hardly passable in Armenia as of Thursday evening due to adverse weather conditions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
In particular, the roadways leading from Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province are shut down.
Vardenyats Pass is closed for trailer trucks.
Navur-Ttujur section of Berd-Chambarak highway is closed for all vehicles.
Roads of Syunik Province are difficult to pass.
Vardenis-Martuni road of Gegharkunik Province, inter-community highways of Aragatsotn Province, as well as the upper part of Tigranashen turns of Ararat Province are partly icy.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open only for passenger vehicles, with 820 trucks stuck on the Russian side.
The ban on entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in force. The ban does not apply to the freight transport.
