Armenian, Russian defense ministers discuss return of POWs, search for missing persons
Armenia’s Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan on Wednesday held a telephone conversation with Russian Defense Minister, General Sergei Shoigu.
The top officials discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, the operational situation in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), the return of prisoners of war (POWs) and hostages, as well as the search for the missing, the Armenian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Armenian defense minister thanked his counterpart for the effective activity of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as for Russia's support in ensuring the security of Armenia's southern Syunik Province borders.
The defense ministers of the two countries also exchanged views on the latest military and political developments in the region.
