Iran proposes to form a joint working group of Kur-Araks basin countries
Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian has suggested to establish a working group of the Kur-Araks basin region to comprise of its littoral states, including Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey. Ardakanian 's proposal was made during the meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
As the local sources report, it was decided that with the establishment of the working group, the regional states will officially discuss joint exploitation of resources in the basin.
The Azerbaijani deputy minister, in turn, has welcomed Iran’s proposal.
