Snowstorm hits Goris-Tatev highway in Armenia
Some roads are closed in Armenia as of Monday morning due to adverse weather conditions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
In particular, the roadways leading from Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province are shut down.
Vardenyats Pass is closed only for trailer trucks.
Chiva-Yelpin, Saravan-Zanger (Vayots Dzor Province), Goris-Shurnukh and Sisian-Zanger highways (Syunik Province), as well as the area called Meghri Sar are difficult to pass.
Snowstorm has hit Goris-Tatev highway of Syunik Province, but the road is open to traffic. Road maintenance operations are underway, the ministry said.
Aparan-Aragats highway of Aragatsotn Province, roads of Vayots Dzor and Shirak Provinces are partly icy.
