Closed, partly icy roads reported in Armenia
Some roads are closed or difficult to pass in Armenia as of Tuesday evening due to adverse weather conditions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
In particular, the roadways leading from Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province are shut down.
Vardenyats Pass and Goris-Sisian highway of Syunik Province are difficult to pass for trailer trucks.
Jermuk-Saravan-Zanger highway of Vayots Dzor Province and roads of Syunik Province are partly icy.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open to all traffic, with 600 trucks stuck on the Russian side.
The ban on entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in force. The ban does not apply to the freight transport.
Drivers are strongly urged to use snow tires.
