One of the bodies found during search operations identified, Artsakh emergency service says
Four more bodies of fallen servicemen were found during the search operations in the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict zone on Monday, the head of the press service of Artsakh’s State Service of Emergency Situations told Panorama.am on Tuesday.
The body of one of them was retrieved from the Azerbaijani side of Mataghis combat position and handed over to the Armenian side. The victim was identified as reservist Ashot Khachatryan born in 1993, according to the driving license found with him. A forensic examination is set to be carried out to establish the identities of the other three killed, the service said.
As Tadevosyan informed the search and rescue groups will continue search operations continue today in Hadrut region.
So far, Artsakh rescue squads have recovered 1,287 bodies from the battle zones. 15 of them are said to be civilians who have been either murdered or fatally wounded during the hostilities. The 1,268 fallen troops also include volunteers and reservists.
