Russia supports UN cooperation with Baku and Yerevan on all humanitarian issues - Zakharova
"The UN is in communication with Armenian and Azerbaijani sides, and discussions on sending an assessment mission to Nagorno Karabakh are underway," Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told at a briefing on Thursday.
"We consider the involvement of international specialized agencies in Nagorno-Karabakh as useful. At present, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is actively engaged in works in Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding regions As to the specialized agencies of the UN, their leadership are in communication with Armenian and Azerbaijani sides and continue discussions on sending a comprehensive assessment mission to Nagorno-Karabakh," said Zakharova.
The Russian diplomat added that Russia supports UN's cooperation with Baku and Yerevan on all humanitarian issues.
